 The main tasks of THE STATE DEMONSTRATION-TEST CENTRE (SDTC) of small arms-and-cannon armaments were determined as follows:
- demonstration of homemade small arms specimens and technical means of special purpose;
- rendering services in testings, including comparative, for foreign customers;
- testing the articles in joint and ordered developments with participation of foreign customers;
- training in methods of use and maintenance weapon and technical means of special purpose including under contracts with foreign customers.
For performance of the mentioned tasks SDTC disposes of indoor shooting ranges and gallarries for live tests of specimens as well as chambers for specimen tests in unfavourable working conditions, ballistic laboratory for determenation of exterior and interior ballistic parameters, laboratory of electromechanical measurements for determination of combat, technical and operational parameters, shooting range up to 300m, skeet and trap and running boar bench.
Complex of various target systems (acoustic, contact, drop, turning) and technical facilities ( elecrified platform with the range of moving up to 25m and 100m) located at distance up to 300 meters. All these allow efficiently and visually out a demonstration (shooting) in accuracy and grouping from various systems of small arms, works in estimation of piercing capability of the cartridge bullets to the small arms.
In the near future at the range of 450m will be put a frontal movement target system including two "drop" targets with the range distance up to 100m.

 "Indicator" computer-instrumental comlex is a metrological equipment and is intended for a contactless determination of projectile pass place in the coordinate plane of acoustic target when testing sport-and-hunting and combat specimens as well as ammunition to them with the following calculation of characteristics of accuracy and fire grouping.
Base of climatic and dynamic testings.
"TSNIITOCHMASH" disposes of wide range of equipment for mechanical and climatic tests. A complex of climatic chambers includes cold, warm, moisture, solar radiation, dynamic dust chambers which allow to test articles and materie is under influence of the following factors:
- high and low temperatures;
- cyclic temperature changes;
- high temperature and high moisture;
- solar emanation;
- sea fog;
- precipitations (rain, hoar-frost, dew);
- dynamic dust.
A complex of eguipment for dynamic testings includes:
- mechanical and electrodynamic shaker device;
- unit of centrifugal overloads (centrifuges);
- installation of impact overloads (impact testing machines);
- eguipment for testing on influence of acoustic noise
With the use of these eguipment there are carried out:
- testings in insensitivity to the influence of the abovementioned external factors;
- accelerated climatic tests in keeping quality during long-term storage;
- testings in tropic resistance;
- testings on the installation simulating transport loads;
- complex laboratory testings on the vibrational and shock unit which simulate most complicated operational influences;
- development of testing methods and techniques.
