The underwater sub-machine gun is designed for the arming of combat frogmen
and underwater means for their movement.
- The high penetrating power of 5.66-mm MPS sub-machine gun cartridges achieved at the expense of an original design of the bullet and selection of optimal ballistic approach.
- At greatest possible ranges of fire under water, the sub-machine gun provides destruction of a target clothed in a diving suit with a porolon (flexible polyurethane foam) padding and protected with organic glass of 5 mm thickness.
- The sub-machine gun provides aimed fire with a folded or extended stock from all positions of the frogman. Also, it may successfully be applied for the self-defence on overland.
- The underwater sub-machine gun provides a single-shot and automatic fire, has no analogs as to the range of effective fire, operating characteristics and safety of fire under water and in air.
